God’s Ways Are Always Higher Than Our Ways
Earlier today I was in the middle of a daily run that I have been doing consistently for almost 3 weeks. During all these daily runs, the only few times I have stopped for a few seconds has been when either waiting to cross a road, opening a gate or speaking momentarily with someone I have just said “Bless you” to.
Suddenly, around 60% the way through a particular run I had been doing for 9 days in a row, I got a sharp pain in my left calf. I stopped running, paused my running app, and massaged my calf for a few moments. I then did some stretches, but the pain was still there. I stretched some more, then tried to jog on the spot. The pain wasn’t going away.
I really wanted to carry on running. After all, this last 3 weeks had been my most consistent daily fitness routine in my whole life.
God spoke to me and said:
“It’s OK, just walk back.”
I started to walk where I would usually be running. After about 5 minutes I was coming up to a Co-Op.
God asked me to go in and get some eggs for lunch.
In the Co-Op I had the opportunity to bless the young lady serving me, as well as encouraging her by giving her a card saying “Imagine The World With No Mental Health Issues”, as God had revealed to me that she has really been struggling in her mind.
As I walked away from the Co-Op, I thanked God for my slight calf strain, as it meant I was able to bless this women, something that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
The Lord God then asked me to go on to LinkedIn.
The 1st words I read on the top post that God ordained for this specific moment were:
I THINK loyalty IS A SPIRITUAL experience
I quickly saw that the post was by Steven Bartlett, an incredibly successful and influential serial entrepreneur and host of one of the most popular podcasts across the Earth currently, The Diary Of A CEO.
I first met Steven back in December 2016, when our then agencies were potentially going to collaborate together due to our complimentary expertise.
I smiled as I began to read Steven’s post.
I smiled because back in 2022, on January 27th, the Lord spoke to me and said that He has chosen Steven Bartlett to become one of His disciples. He gave a message, titled Steven Bartlett, You Are Going To Be A Raging Inferno Of My Fire, Says The Lord.
Then in 2024, on January 31st, the Lord gave a 2nd message to Steven, titled Steven Bartlett, I Have Chosen You To Be A Prophet To The Nations, Says The Lord.
Shortly after this, I shared a post bringing together the Divine ways in which God was pursuing Steven.
ALL Glory to God for Steven’s gifts, talents, influence, credibility, material wealth, connections, and most of all, for EVERYTHING he is going to do as a born-again, baptised, Spirit filled Glory Carrier for Christ Jesus!

I think loyalty is a spiritual experience … I know this sounds strange, but let me explain 👇🏾
Real loyalty isn’t convenient. It shows up when it costs you something - when defending them might hurt you, when standing by them requires sacrifice.
There’s something sacred about the moment you realise someone has chosen to fight for you - to put you first.
That moment is a spiritual experience.
For parents, this spiritual experience begins when they meet their child for the first time. A loyalty so deep, “love” doesn’t quite capture it.
Loyalty is caring for those who cared for you when you were struggling. Loving someone who loved you when you felt unlovable. Supporting someone who supported your dreams when no one else believed.
I think this is why soldiers talk about brotherhood with such reverence.
When you know the person beside you would risk everything to bring you home, something extraordinary happens.
You finally get to a glimpse of what every spiritual tradition has been trying to tell us: we were never separate from each other, or from anything.
In that moment you’re no longer an individual - you’re one with someone else, you’re connected, you are part of something bigger.
Loyalty says: “Your fight is my fight. Your joy is my joy.” It is love in action, gratitude through devotion.
What an honour it is to be trusted with someone’s loyalty
and what a privilege to give yours in return.
Whilst having stopped to read this post, I then wrote this comment:
Oh wow Steven Bartlett you are so, so close to having your very own Damascus Road experience with the One who surrendered His life for you, and who has fought for your eternal salvation more than any human ever could…
Yes, Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth & the Life.
My brother Steven, I praise and give all the Glory to God for your testimony and life ahead as an on-fire Disciple. Hallelujah 🙌🏻❤️🔥
I then added a reply on my comment, with me having seen that it was 33 minutes earlier that Steven had posted this message (God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect!).
Also, when I went on to LinkedIn and this message was at the top of my feed, it was posted by you 33 minutes earlier.
Jesus was 33 when He gave His life up for each and every one of us.
It was only because I had to stop my morning run with a slight calf strain that I saw this post when I did too…
“For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”
Acts of the Apostles 17:28 NLT
At the time of typing these words, at 7:57pm on Wednesday 13th August 2025, I don’t believe that Steven has had his Damascus Road experience, encountering Jesus Christ, yet, but oh how I thank God as this hugely significant moment for the advancement of God’s Kingdom edges ever closer, Hallelujah!
I thank God for my strained left calf too, as if this didn’t happen on my run, I wouldn’t have been reading what Steven published precisely 33 minutes earlier!
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord, “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
James 1:2-4 NLT
